The GPS aerial can get signal through glass and plastic but must not be obstructed by steel panels.
Mount the GPS aerial at a location with a clear view of the sky through the front and side windows with the least possible obstruction from roof and side pillars. For Kalmar vehicles it is recommended that the GPS be installed by the ECU, in the spot between the ECU and the front window.
